About the Author

Erle Montaigue was the first Westerner to be granted the degree of "Master" in taijiquan and dim-mak. In 1995 Erle was invited to study with Liang Shih-kan, the leader and "keeper" of the now almost extinct forerunner to taijiquan, the Wutan Shan System of Boxing, thus becoming the only Westerner and one of a handful of people to be taught the nine qi-disruptive methods. He serves as head of the World Taiji Boxing Association (WTBA), which has schools in more than 30 countries. He is highly regarded internationally as one of the leading instructors of the internal martial arts, including taijiquan

As a student of external Kung Fu, this book was an interesting look at the internal styles and the background behind them. But as far as the use of the pressure points go, this book made it look fairly impractical and useless. The point location diagrams are impossible to follow (sketches), which ruins what little effect the appendixes show. All in all, an interesting read, but nothing further..

Format: Paperback
Based on the acupuncture points and the energy channels of the body, the ancient Chinese art of Dim-Mak, or death- point striking, can be used to maim and kill as well as heal. But until now, martial artists have had to rely on acupuncture texts for information on the points and how they worked. Earl Montaigue and Wally Simpson teamed up to compile the most in depth study in print of every point on each of the 12 main energy meridians of the body. A must read for all of those serious about learning true Dim-Mak!

This book, as part of Earle Montaigue's series is an excellent introduction and reference source for the internal martial artist. With some dedication, the level of detail given all falls into place, and this can be an extreamly inciteful work. Erle has had a truly fortunate tutorage and it shows in every book he writes.
