Minor annoyances but great functioning product.

If your only steel surface is vertical and below waist height, as you will find in my kitchen, then there is no comfortable position to place the timer except upside down.
The beeper alarm is not loud enough to hear several rooms away from the kitchen. I haven't noticed a volume control.
My wife gets a little confused between the timer mode and the temperature mode. There is a different procedure to silence the alarm for each mode, even though the alert sound is similar.
The timer mode defaults to resetting to the last time programmed, which is excellent for repetitive tasks. For example, let's say you need to blanch a series of lasagne sheets, one at a time, for two minutes each. When I silence the timer, it cocks itself for 2:00 again, and simply pressing start counts down the next two minutes.
The digital thermometer works great and appears very accurate. It appears to read at the tip. The needle probe is a little fatter than I would like; the manufacturer advertises they sell a thinner probe for extra money. According to the instructions the probe can be thrown directly onto the rack to tell the air temperature in the oven.
I paid full price for this product and it was damn well worth it. I am disgusted at the many positive Amazon reviews by "shoppers" who disclose they received the product for free.
