Ava and Chip are learning about smart cities from their mum. They learn it is like a normal city but instead lots of data is collected all the time and things are automated where possible. Chip asks his mum, ‘What is data?’ She explains, then Ava asks what happens to all the data? Her mum explains again.
To give her children an example of how the world is changing and using technology, mum plans a trip to the smart city of Digita.
There is a chance to discuss the many ways that data is being collected around them on the journey to smart city.
The shop they go to gives you lots of examples where you can ask questions about the technology involved.
This is a great technology learning book and is a great learning tool for children. There is a nice story line running through it. It was easy to read and the information was laid out in an easy to read style with plenty of opportunities to question the children. The pictures are brilliantly illustrated too.
