I have SIBO, Fructose Mal, Celiac...The good news is that the first book, Digestive Health with REAL food has me healing. Because of "the cookbook" I am able to be even more creative about the few things I can eat.
These recipes heal and nourish a damaged system.
For example, Cinnamon Ghee Bites. Since I am unable to tolerate any starchy food I depend on fats to give me my energy. Who knew these little bites would be so great at energizing and keeping my cravings away. I will note that if you are not on board with an elimination diet and never read the first book this recipe my seem a tad strange. So anyone buying this book as just another Paleo cookbook will probably not understand it.
Also, I am not able to tolerate a lot of recipes in this book but with my knowledge in the kitchen I am able to tweak them. I think the author had that in mind when she wrote it. Make recipes with the things you can tolerate. Over time I am excited to know that I will eventually be able to tolerate most of these recipes. This book will be helpful when I am able to reintroduce some foods. This cookbook is full of great ideas!
So yes, 5 stars plus! But get it with her first book to be the most effective.
I can't wait to try the Mellow Marrow recipe.
Most of the recipes are simple, but elegant. Some are innovative, such as the Grain-Free Sushi. I haven't had time to test the recipes yet, since I just got the book, but I'm excited about trying them as soon as I can. The book has everything from appetizers to desserts, all beautifully photographed.
