A pleasant workbook for secondary schoolers
28 October 2014 - Published on Amazon.com
Trudgill, who has written several professional level books on English dialects, here provides a competent workbook on that subject for non-experts. (Despite its title, it explores no languages other than English.) Each chapter comprises a set of problems, many using excerpts from authors who write in some colloquial (e.g. Laeland Scots, Black English). The book is suitable for young adults, but there does not seem to be a key with the answers.
