Embarking on a violent road trip to escape the cops, Otis (Bill Moseley), Baby (Sheri Moon) and Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig), murder and mutilate their way through the state, pursued by the vengeful and sadistic Sherrif Wydell (William Forsythe), the brother of one of their previous victims.

Perhaps this is the point though: that this is how these psychopaths (& many others in US history) actually see themselves-as romantic outlaws with a legitimate beef against society & authority. Reality, however, comes in a welter of blood, to the sounds of Freebird
The American Dream-doomed to die in a hail of bullets.'Better to burn out than fade away'
The widescreen 1.85:1 picture quality is
very good. It's a grimy, funny, dirty hostage picture,
with a depraved cuckoo nest family as the
protagonists. You also get a cast that reads
like a who's who of cult films. Not a film for
everyone, but it remains very likeable.
This two disc package comes with a wealth
of extras. Extras: disc 1: commentary &
a LOAD of other stuff (can't be typing it all,
trust me, you get your moneys worth.)
Disc 2: 30 Days in Hell (making of) which
is 144mins long, yeah, i thought i read the
disc wrong, but that's what it reads.
Film run time: 1hr 50min 47sec. 2005
I concluded it was best not to think too much about it as it was confusing enough.
Worth watching though with a wonderful soundtrack and an expression I will never forget - " a 100% Alabama ass-kicking". I thought that was terrific- along the lines of "We need a bigger boat".
Do give it a viewing. You will love it or hate it and will certainly not feel that you have wasted your time.
Great performances by Sid Haig, Bill Moseley, Sheri Zombie and William Forsythe. This film is a fantastic road/slasher movie and pretty believable in this day and age. Still to this day RZ's best film.
