Here at last is the iconic outfit's single-disc greatest hits compilation. This definitive collection adds all the anthemic early Aerosmith Chart-toppers cut for Columbia, such as "Dream On," and "Walk This Way," to the band's gem-hard Geffen sides, such as "Love in An Elevator" and "Janie's Got a Gun." Also includes 2 newly recorded songs "Sedona Sunrise," and "Devil's Got a New Disguise."

and many of the old favourites are there, which will raise a smile but is unlikely to start a stampede for the next studio album.
Why do we need another compilation of the same songs that were on the last three greatest hits CDs? Maybe they don't have the time/energy/enthusiasm to make a brand new record right now. That's fine. They've been doing this for nearly 40 years. They're entitled to only make albums when they feel like it after that long.
But filling the space between albums with cash cows like this is a real slap in the face for the fans.
Why not release a b-sides and rarities comilation instead? There are several live b-sides from various singles over the years that are no longer available, plus all the studio rare tracks: What Kind of Love Are You On, Animal Crackers, Head First, Don't Stop, Fall Together, Angel's Eyes, Blind Man, Deuces Are Wild, Girls of Summer, Devil's Got a New Disguise, Sedona Sunrise, Come Together, Lay It Down, Walk On Water, Love Me Two Times, Lizard Love, Ain't Enough, Won't Let You Down... the list goes on.
A compilation of this kind would be so much better received by the fans than yet another recycling of the songs they already have several times over.
There's also the issue of one of the biggest rock bands of all time still not having a real top-drawer live DVD available... that could surely be dealt with as well!
The last 2 releases before this: Rockin the joint (live one) and Honkin on Bobo (blues) are also not all new material. I am saddened to think that Aerosmith might have started to creatively burn out. Maybe the negative feedback of 'Just push play' has frightened them? I get the impression that they cant be bothered to get together and spend long days and nights just throwing out ideas and creating anymore. That would be sad :(
Its a long time since i havent bought the latest Aerosmith release, but I wont be buying this one.
Come on Aerosmith give us some NEW funny filthy brilliant music that we all love.............
