A pageturner, really enjoyed this fast paced thriller. The story felt very realistic. The short chapters make it very easy to progress quickly to the exciting conclusion. A highly recommended read. I am looking forward to the next outing for Detective Kate Bowen
I really enjoyed the Devil's Luck by Croke. It follows Detective Kate Bowen, an Irish Garda surveillance officer who despite the Machiavellian politics of global policing, a boyfriend who far is more than he seems and former IRA thugs, who have graduated to international terrorism, remains doggedly locked on to her quarry.
The Devils Luck is fast paced, gritty, funny and at all times exudes realism. A real pageturner!!!!
I approached The Devil’s Luck with caution as I was unfamiliar with the author. However this is a pageturner, fast paced, and believable. Set in the murky world of international terrorism, it is a vivid portrayal of how disparate underground organisations find common cause in order to achieve their respective aims. Pitted against these forces are Kate Bowen and her motley and diverse crew in a gripping tale of counter-terrorism. Highly recommended. If you enjoy Lee Child or John Connolly you’ll enjoy T.R. Croke. I look forward to Kate Bowen’s next challenge.
