It was a pleasure to read this book - I imagine there will be some outrage from those who would like for only one religion to exist, their own!

Pat Regan, tells it like it is and points out the religious propoganda that chains individuals and closes their minds.

I rather suspect there are many others who also believe that Jesus Christ was just a shrewd but extremely fraudulent invention; created by 1st century myth-makers to promote their sectarian agenda. Pat Regan has the courage to speak out about this. Well done.

Spot on, Pat! I am now in my 70s, brought up in C of E and from about 12 years of age was always in trouble for asking about the very anomalous religious teachings, shoved down my throat by various, vicars, teachers, etc.; I was always given the answer that I mush have 'faith'. Faith in WHAT exactly? Some deliberately dreamed up copy of ancient legends to ensure I have no independent thoughts of my own? I don't think so.
For the past 40 years or so, I have been of the opinion that all so-called monotheist religions are man-made to keep control of the herd, ie.us! They have been the cause of countless wars, horrors and psychological problems visited on their adherents who are/have been so indoctrinated that they always believe that the one they belong to has the monopoly on 'the Truth' and resort to the old bogey-man threat , the devil, Satan, Hell et al as your punishment if you do not toe the line. Utter garbage, as is pointed out in this excellent book.
Read it - if you do not believe what he is saying, at least you will have had an entertaining read.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Truth at Last? 29 Jan. 2014
By bibliophile - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
From reading earlier works by this author I expected something radical and The Devil, God's Best Friend didn't disappoint. Pat Regan is knowledgeable and experienced in all alternative belief patterns, particularly neo-paganism and traditional paganism of the ancient British variety so his lifetime's wisdom shows thru in this exposition of the way that unenlightened souls who adopt the talisman of religion thru ignorance (i.e. the unthinking masses) have their minds controlled and directed (brainwashed if you like) by the confidence trick of God and Devil. Fundamentalists tell you that you will be endlessly damned to purgatory if you do not subscribe to their way of living. They tell you that you have the choice between God and the Devil. Some choice, seeing as how they have controlled the images, concepts and legends surrounding BOTH illusions for milennia. Regan has worked hard all his life to liberate people from these destructive ideas which have been at the root cause of most of the billions of unnatural deaths which have occurred for the past 2,000 years and this book is his latest offering to lift the veil of ignorance from those who sense there is something more but who cannot find their way to it. I think it's excellent. More please Pat Regan.
