Much of the guidance then provided on improving the traits is common sense - but it is difficult to see how it wouldn't be!. The book is also stuffed with exercises, many very good and some very ropey!
Overall this is a good book if you need to improve your influencing skills, or if you are a trainer in this area and want a fresh perspective on the topic.
It's a quick read and good value for money.
The book is basically divided into 7 chapters, each one covering one of the 7 'traits' that influential people have. Each chapter clearly sets out what will be covered, defines the trait, includes exercises to help you develop the trait, illustrative case studies, tips, and then a summary of the trait. The further reading suggestions at the end of each chapter are also good for further research and help.
This book is very useful for anyone who would like to better understand how to influence others, and how that might fit into a variety of contexts. However, it is equally of value as a teaching tool for training others.
