There is serendipity in the way these two meet. Accidental yet meant to be. The characters build a relationship slowly and the anticipation helps to keep the reader riveted to their story. The journey they take and the soul searching that they do gives the reader a better understanding of the two of them. Both as individuals and as a couple. The presence of their families both past and present add another dimension to the dynamics. I found it a wonderfully delicate approach to sorrow and pain and a genuinely enjoyable and uplifting read.

This is the fourth book in this series and I knew that as soon as I had finished the first book I couldn't wait to read more.

We start off with Hazel, who has just recently moved to Sandy Shores to escape all of the memories of the fact that she has lost her mother, which happened two months ago. She is looking for a fresh start, so she sold everything from where she was originally from and came down here, it has taken three days for her to arrive and the first thing that she does in go to the beach. This is where she first meets Ethan but also here is when we can see into Hazel's mind quite clearly, you can tell that she is such a fragile person and that considering she is tempted on doing something completely crazy shows that she hasn't had it easy or fair to here in a while.

Ethan is completely blown away by Hazel when he first see's her, he can't work out what it is but he instantly can feel the attraction for her. He notices her as she in quite deep in the water but the fact that she is fully clothed and is standing there for a while he can't help but make sure that she is alright. As he is speaking to her he notices that he feels like he should protect her because when she does finally turn around he can see that her face is full of pain and that she must have gone through a hell of a lot.

When he learns that she hasn't looked for anywhere to stop he invites her back to his place so that she can shower and get warm again. He has no intention of sleeping with her even if she does decide to take up his offer of stopping with him until she finds somewhere to live.

Ethan Paxton sees Hazel Mendes on the beach and is drawn to her. She's just moved into town and is mentally and physically exhausted as she's just looked after her mother who's died for cancer. She doesn't have a place to stay as yet so she agrees to one night with Ethan until she finds a place to stay and a new job .
He wants to be with her but has to prove he wants to be with her as he's got a reputation for being a playboy. He eventually wears her down as he's sweet and caring but Hazel has a secret. Will it cost them their happily ever after ?

HASH(0x91607b28) out of 5 stars Standalone, HEA story 28 Dec. 2015
By Maltieri - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This is a standalone, HEA story. It is about Hazel Mendes and Ethan Paxton. It is another book in the Sandy Beach series and it did not disappoint. You don’t have to read the novels before this one, but it would be nice to see how everyone else came about in their relationships.

Hazel decided to move to Sandy Beach for a fresh start. She is lost after burying her mother and does not have anywhere else to go. She doesn’t want to stay in her old town, so she decides to leave with whatever money she can get. When arriving in Sandy Beach, she goes to the beach and loses herself in the waves. She doesn’t try to swim or anything, just stands in the water and lets her mind wander.

Ethan finds her on the beach and immediately feels something for her. He wants to protect her, to be there for her, but Hazel doesn’t want help, doesn’t want to be protected. So he convinces her that for one night, they let their passion loose and open up to one another. After that night though, can he let her go? Hazel doesn’t want to bring Ethan down so she leaves him and goes in search of a hairdressing job. But Ethan doesn’t give up so easily, especially if it has to do with the woman he wants.

Can Ethan get passed Hazel’s defenses? Can Hazel let Ethan help her and let him in?

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

HASH(0x913b939c) out of 5 stars I really loved this book 2 Jan. 2016

I really loved this book. It is a standalone book in the Sandy Beach Series. So far, I think it's my favorite of all of them. It is great to read all the books so you understand the dynamics of all the relationships of the siblings mentioned in the book, but it is not required that they all be read to understand what is going on. I love the way the author spins the tales separately, but ties everything together at the same time. Another great book by my favorite author.

HASH(0x913b9480) out of 5 stars Good romance 13 Jan. 2016
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I enjoyed book about Ethan and Hazel she came to Sandy shore to forget about the loss of her mom and found romance. It was a nice typical romance book with no mystery or twist and turns. A bit mondane for my taste, but I enjoyed it seeing a bit more pieces of the Paxton family. I received this book as an ARC gift for an honest review.
