Destiny Mine comes alive with the pains and struggles of a proficient nurse and a extremely handsome doctor. Esi, a dedicated nurse is looking for romance, yet, she can't seem to find the right person. In walks the delicious Doctor Adam Quarshie. Gorgeous, attractive, and not looking for love per se. He's loving all the woman, one at a time.
Esi knows Adam is a player and rebukes all his advances. However, a deep attraction to this diligent doctor sets her heart hammering. Soon she discovers there's more to Adam beyond his stellar looks.
Adam's not interested in a lasting relationship, or so he thinks. But the beautiful Esi's turning his inside's to mush.
Ms. Prah has upped the heat in this romantic Destiny Series. Not exactly a sequel to Midwife to Destiny, Destiny Mine is a stand alone read. If you're searching for an excellent romantic book, I recommend Destiny Mine!
I was given an ARC (advanced reading copy) by the author for an honest review. Although, I loved it so much I bought the book for my kindle.
Esi is ready to settle down and get married...Adam on the other hand is looking to do the opposite, he's a commitment phobe and wants nothing to do with marriage.
Extremely attracted to one another, Esi and Adam bump heads all throughout Destiny Mine. Esi is mad (more at herself) because she is falling in love with Adam and she can't understand why he just doesn't want to settle down while Adam is mad (more at himself) because he can't understand why Esi just doesn't want to play around...why she wants to get married...why any woman wants to get married.
Nana Prah had me cracking up with Destiny Mine because of the verbal sparring that went on between these two. Esi in Adams words had a smart mouth, she spoke her mind and as much as it pissed him off, it also was a huge attraction to him too. And as much as Adam made her blood boil with anger and lust, Esi loved the fact he was also no push over, and it didn't help that he was smart, gorgeous and had a body built for fantasizing...wait where was I? oh yes, the review...lols.
The side characters were a bonus especially Esi's cousin Ora who was pregnant and going through the motions.
Well written, the character and world building was just exceptionally done. I really liked the fact that Nana was able to mix sweet, humor and sensually sexy altogether in this story...it made for an outstanding read. Destiny Mine is book 2 in her Destiny series but can definitely be read as a stand alone.

Esi is the smart, witty, adorable midwife in a busy hospital that works side by side with Dr. Adam Quarshie, the handsome playboy who has no intention of ever settling down.
I don't do spoilers and a lot of plot giveaways in my reviews but this was a fun (with very poignant moments) clever romance. With a maternity floor as the back drop, there is plenty of medical drama and the author knows her stuff giving the story a solid authenticity.
The sexually charged banter between the main characters was humorous and entertaining. A wonderful plus was we got to visit some natural landmarks, which gave a genuine feel for the scenery and setting of the beautiful country of Ghana.
While Midwife to Destiny was a sweet romance, this time Ms. Prah has the pages sizzling and I do love a good sizzle in my romances.
Destiny Mine is stand alone even though it's part of a series. It's well-written and from the moment you meet Esi and Adam you immediately want to hear their story and the pages turn easily.
I'm looking forward to another in the series.
Destiny Mine is the second book in a series but I'm sure it could be read as a standalone. I've read the first book which I really enjoyed although I have to say I enjoyed this one even more. I loved the characters. Esi is bouncy, full of life but a strong determined woman who doesn't want to have her heart broken by player, Adam Quarshie (oh, I love that name!). Anyway, Quarshie really is a player. And he's a nice guy but he has this horrible fault - he doesn't want to commit to one woman the rest of his life. But somehow, the author manages to make me sympathise with him. I mostly don't go for the bad guys in books unless they have lots to redeem them and Quarshie does. And he's just so sexy, how could the reader not fall for him? This book is very sensual and there's plenty of sexual tension. There is also a depth in their physical relationship which makes it so much more respectful. I really enjoyed this love story. I enjoyed entering into the Ghana culture. I love the way they talk! It was fun learning more about the country and entering the world of midwives. This one didn't disappoint in that regard. All in all, a great read.
I had been waiting for this story ever since meeting the characters in Ora's story, and Ms. Prah does not disappoint - in fact, she delivers even more in this tale. I loved the banter and interactions between the heroine and the hero. Though I did feel bad for Adam sometimes because of Esi's sharp tongue, and that woman doesn't pull back her punches! To see her fall for the real man Adam is underneath the veneer of the playboy was a joy to witness.
