Space 1999 has gained a cult following over the yrs, never particularly successful in the u.k but it acheived moderate success abroad. Here you'll learn just about all you need to know!
On the whole I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and it has given a whole new level to watching the show again with all the background knowledge and opinion for each episode. If I had to make any criticism it would be the lack of photos - Ironically, the only photos included are model shots (i.e. technical stuff) rather than of any of the people involved. I understand why this is, there are licensing and permission issues when featuring pictures of people and this is an "unathourised" biography of the show. It's a shame as there are probably all sorts of candid, behind-the-scenes photos in the possession of those involved in the show and this would be the perfect place for them.Read more ›
This book from cover to cover looks at every episode made, provides in-sights throughout from cast and crew, gives you the origins of the show, and adds in an episode guide and more comments from those involved.
An essential purchase if you're a fan of Gerry Anderson and this sci-fi classic.
The book is over 500 pages long and one thing that should be mentioned is that there are no 'official' photos from the show as it is entirely 'unofficial'. There are, however, photos of some of the spacecraft models used in the series supplied by their modelmaker, Martin Bower.
A great read if your a fan and you won't be disappointed.

I enjoyed the show but this book takes it all far too seriously. A lot of the quotes from the actors and crew are similarly over the top as though they were performing Shakespeare.Published 23 months ago by Andy
