From murder to infidelity and dishonesty as the series unfolded it drew you in.
So too with season 2 as it progresses you are drawn to wanting to know what happens next.
The beauty of the show is it's such a simple idea, a gang of middle class curtain twitchers are all friends and discuss what happens to them and their neighbours. Where the scriptwriters get it so right is in the consistantly unexpected storylines and witty observations.
This programme never stales or feels lost for a plot, something interesting is always happening and the main characters, though flawed, are all likeable. It also makes a nice change to have the women as the centre of attention and not being portrayed as idiots. The actors all give good value for money and even during the daftest plots they still manage to convince.
Things dont let up in season 2 and as before the pace quickens towards the end leaving you wanting to see series 3.
Programmes as easily entertaining and amiable as this are rare.
The box set is well presented and disc 7 has a raft of extras.
The picture quality is good, especially for a T.V show and it's nice to see 5.1 surround offered and even though your surround set-up is unlikely to be tested by this it is clear and conversation is distinct from ambient noise.
All in all this is a good show well served by this box set.
If you haven't seen it before then you really should watch season 1 1st as you may get confused. If you have seen the 1st series and enjoyed it then this is not going to disappoint. Buy it and enjoy the further mishaps of the residents of wisteria lane.
For anyone who missed it, think of the first season, then add 100% more of everything. For anyone who missed the first season too... well, there's just no explaining some people's tastes is there!!! Buy it. You'll love it!
Unlike some critics who said that it was the worst season, I believe that the second season was awesome. Though there were a few comments that were right. Such as how the Housewives in the first episodes, whom we were so used to speak and talk together, were spending, starting from the second episode, a bit too much time separated from each other, having plot lines which didn't intertwine with them. And how for Susan Mayer became less interesting and more annoying. So much that I first wondered, sorry Teri Hatcher, if it wouldn't have been better if Susan Mayer got shot by ... at the start of the first episode and became the new narrator so to speak. But then again, her stories became better, although I wasn't too fond of how she got separated from Mike. And considering the special contents in the DVD, where they present some abandoned plot lines for Susan that got shot and abandoned,( a good thing for it wasn't that much great), I have to say that I would have loved to see more of Susan Mayer work in the series, more episodes on the subject of her art crafts like they did in the fifth season, and less on some goofy situations that didn't had any connection to her. Fortunately for us, Marc Cherry gave more input on his episodes instead and Susan Mayer's life became more interesting.Read more ›
The program is addictive you just want to keep on watching more and more. The twist at the end of the series just wasn't expected.
