I think I may be sliding to team Jesse! Or maybe I can make my own team . . . Team #NixJesse? I still flove you Nix, I swear!

So, I've been in a serious book funk for awhile now. Nothing has been measuring up and to be honest, I've tossed book upon book to my DNF pile for the last week or so.

So when I got River's messaged to let me know Jesse had landed on my kindle, while I was over anxious, I was kind of a little nervous. That didn't stop me from digging into it at 1am like a kid in a candy store! I mean seriously people, its River Savage!

I'm not exactly sure why I was nervous. River is a phenomenal author who pours her heart and soul into every book and trust me, you can feel every emotion that woman writes. From the thigh-clenching highs, all the way down to the raw, heart - in - a - blender lows and everything in between. Desertion is no exception.

As you know, or maybe you don't, this is book #3 in the Knights Rebels MC series and is about fire fighter turned Marine turned bad boy biker Jesse (my newest hubby) and his sexy as hell nurse Bell.

I'd say you could probably get away with reading this as a standalone, but why would you want to miss out on getting your #NixFix and #SyHigh? You wouldn't, would you? Didn't think so, links are below ;)

Firstly, I want to start with something that I just have to get off my chest because it's been driving me freaking insane and well a good wifey defends her hubby, right? ;)

I have read this book Twice now and Jesse never cheats!
Yes, he is indeed a manwhore who will happily have sex with a different woman every night with no guilt. And honestly, he shouldn't feel guilty. The women Jesse beds knows the score, he is a one night man. He never cheats on Bell. End of.

Jesse Carter is finally here!! Jesse's story is one I couldn't wait for! He was always that filthy, charmer and I had a feeling his story was going to be more emotional and I couldn't wait to see that man get knocked on his ass.

"I, Jesse Carter, am f--ed."

So this is Jesse and Bell's story! Its not an easy one. One side there's a family torn apart by a tragedy and the other PTSD and refusing to let a single person in. Jesse and Bell are complete opposites but they fit. They surprisingly work. Along with personal problems they had to fight through the problems in their relationship too. Bell is more shy. More reserved. she doesn't go from shy to queen sassy over night; she grows and grows and I loved that. There's this thing if a character is shy they're instantly marked as weak but Bell was one of the strongest characters for me, even though at times I wanted her to she didn't just succumb to Jesse's charm and forgive him when he flashed her a smile. No. He had to earn it and this is why Bell will always be one of my favourite female characters. Jesse was way more different than I ever anticipated, more broken, more emotional but eventually twice the fighter. Both grow so much, separately and together. I hate picking a favourite but I think this *might* be my favourite from the series! It was sexy, emotional, had your heart racing for many different reasons and Jesse was filthy of course!

River's writing is always relatable. The characters always resonate with the readers. I have connected with the female characters every time but this time around I connected with both Bell and Jesse. Bell on personality wise and Jesse on the emotional side. I couldn't stop thinking about this book even after I finished. This is way more than just an MC book.

So I have loved each and every one of the Knights Rebel books so far and I was hanging and I mean tongue literally hanging out waiting to read Jesse’s story – I missed the guys and their goings on but most of all I just wanted to see how hard he was going to fall and to see Nurse Bell bring him to his knees!
I had serious reservations on whether I could or would take to Jesse. But his story just blew me away!
This gloriously alpha, blond haired god with piercing blue eyes and tattoos to die for had me rooting for him from fairly early on – although I have to admit, not straight away.
Jesse was a complex guy, one that can play the field with absolute abandon, so finding someone to quench his insatiable thirst was never going to be easy. But one very cute but ever so slightly not interested Bell Johnson may just be the woman to show him what he has been missing all along, but getting the two of them together in the first place may not be smooth sailing.
Jesse, has women falling at his feet- and anywhere else he tells them but Bell initially isn’t interested, he’s a player and she lives life by treading a very narrow path. Her family have been through so much that she refuses to stray too far from what is expected in order to ensure that her parents can sleep at night.
Jesse is so far out of her league that they are barely on the same planet let alone page!
But when she needs his help, he takes his opportunity and the chase is on.
One date, just one and they are hooked but this is not your normal connection, they are both damaged – each has scars that they cannot shake.
But I was totally on their side, I wanted them to make it work – to find a way to cast their demons aside and to have what they needed most – each other.
