I love horror and scary movies.
But never seem to find them as scary as I used to. Maybe I had become immune to the fear after watching so many.
Only 2 films ever scared me to my core.
The first one being the woman in black which I watched when I was 12 and was one of the first ghost films I'd ever watched so was reasonably petrified.
The second is this film. I watched this a year ago after years of being an avid horror fan and it gave me the same sense of dread as when I was 12.
Its slow to begin with and the first 20 minutes has dialogue that's a little cringey.
But as they enter the cave and become lost it quickly speeds up. The sense of claustrophobia and dread is suffocating.
And with a great twist at the end you are left cold and in shock.
Great film with real suspense, suitable for horror fans and first timers.
Truly terror at its purest.
