A degree in engineering led to employment in telecommunications and the realization that my interest was in the communications, rather than the technical, aspects of this work.
I started to teach yoga and later Mathematics and Computing at secondary school (high-school)level. This unusual CV took me into a long career in adult education where I gained a Masters degree in the Education of Adults.
Planning courses and training tutors provided close contact with professional artists and craftspeople in a wide variety of subjects and a fascination with design theory and woodturning.
I don't like the label ‘teacher’ and certainly not ‘woodturning expert’. If pressed to list strengths it is in helping people to learn and develop their chosen interests through unusual approaches and techniques.
