I've known Alan and his family for a couple of years now and they are some of the most genuine, kindest and sincere people you could meet. His book is a reflection of his personality and character and I found reading it a real pleasure. I think that the stories and examples in the book are really helpful in explaining Alan's views, and his thoughts are compassionate and sensitive. There's no judgement in this book, which I like. It sets out his beliefs and how this has helped him in the past. I'd recommend this book, even if you don't agree with everything in it, it is heartfelt and honest - like Alan himself.

I found this book really helpful, the first 2 chapters were a little complex, but once I had read past them, the book was more personal and I felt the author's sincerity. It wasn't a clinical or cold book like a lot of books on this subject can be. I would definitely recommend it to others.
