His work is profound, made all the more palatable on a long journey by the excellence of my new Kindle and by me not having to lug heavy volumes around as I travel the country.
Moreover, the sheer cost effectiveness of the total deal made everything all the more enjoyable. Had I known this as fact I would have jumped on this configuration a lot earlier than 2012.
My six paperback tomes are the Vintage Classics edition: Enright's revision of Kilmartin's revision of Moncrieff's translation, and I've never liked the mishmash that these two worthies inflicted on the original translation. They would have been better off translating from scratch, in my humble opinion, or letting Old Uncle Tom Cobley and All have a bash at revision too.
Well done, Delphi.
It took most of the first book to adjust to the style, but now I am hooked. I would normally wait until I have finished reading the whole book before giving a review - but it might be some time before I get to the end.

It is nice to restart the reading of classical writers. I have always enjoyed Proust and this Kindle edition is a good buy. Some small errors on the process of digitalisation (?).Published on 15 May 2013 by Ghost
