I have the monitor paired with a MSI GTX1080ti and have found that freesync works perfectly when tested with the Nvidia pendulum demo and also the games I have tried so far which inc. Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, Doom, Borderlands 2 and Rust.
The monitor has no dead / stuck pixels, no backlight bleed and no colour banding issues.
Haven't came across any defects as of yet. Let's hope it stays that way.
I have went through 8 monitors now this is number 9. The 8 beforehand were Acer and Asus and all around the £400-£500 price point for gaming purposes as I wanted the best for my money such as GSYNC, 1440p and minimum 144Hz. Don't worry I returned all the defective monitors before, I don't just have 9 monitors lol. I ain't rich.
My reasoning for returning all those monitors was because they simply had defects I could not look past. Even if it's so much as 1 dead pixel or minimal backlight bleed I wasn't going to settle for that after spending £400+. I spent £350 on this and got no issues at all and it ticks everything on my checklist.
The monitor lottery is real.
This is my first Dell monitor and so far it's made very good impressions. Let's hope it stays that way.
The reason I didn't give it 5 stars was simply because no monitor will ever be perfectly made unless it's cheap, has an oled screen and comes with no defects.
Quality assurance needs revamped for these big brands on their monitors. Or we will just keep returning them.

First off although this display has been "calibrated", you'll need to do your own calibration too as mine turned out to be tinted slightly green. Luckily Dell gives you a decent amount of colour control, albeit hidden away as a custom profile. Once it has been tuned, the picture quality is almost perfect as far as sRGB goes; Dell did leave out gamma control which is a little annoying as the out of the box gamma is far too bright. This can however be mended using the colour controls in Nvidia control panel or equivalent.
The responsiveness of the screen is outstanding as is the build quality; Dell do also have a zero dead/bright pixel guarantee which I believe all monitors should have by default. Freesync is excellent and at a decent 40-155hz range, Nvidia now fully supports Freesync and it works a dream with this particular model. I highly recommend Freesync monitors over proprietary G-Sync, as purchasing one means you'll more likely be tethered to Nvidia's expensive ecosystem. Freesync works just as well and for typically £50-£150 less.
One of my fears of moving from an IPS display to a TN one were the viewing angles; rest assured that normal viewing angles produce no colour shifting. The horizontal viewing angles are also extremely good, far better than I expected and not far off my previous LG IPS monitor. The viewing angle weaknesses are vertical, though are still perfectly fine. Viewing the panel from up above produces a blown out image whereas viewing from below makes the colours shift an orange-brown. Not a big deal unless you plan to use the screen not-eye level (I can't imagine this being a popular use-case).
My main real gripe with this display is how there's a bit of back-light bleed visible on the top part of the display. Thankfully it's only noticeable on black or dark-black backgrounds. The black uniformity is otherwise extremely good for a TN panel, however I think Dell should have a little tighter tolerances in this area given how they have a stellar reputation with premium displays. Also please note that the image I took of the black levels do look more exaggerated in the photo than they do in real life. The only thing you can really see is the above glow from the back-light.
I would definitely recommend this monitor for those looking for a good 144hz (155hz) screen with a full and rich sRGB colour gamut and decent black levels. Just be aware that TN tolerances tend to be lower than IPS and especially VA; Dell's Premium Pixel policy though means you've very unlikely to get a bad pixel which is far more infuriating than a little bit of back-light bleed (many IPS screens also suffer from IPS-glow but it's usually tolerable for most people).

However, the high refresh rate and fluidity of games is fantastic. It ran with FreeSync and 155hz out of the box no issues and is such a massive change from 60hz, I couldn't go back.
All in all, it's a good monitor. Good quality, does what it says on the box... But if you're after a good picture quality too, you'll need to spend more.

This monitor DOESN'T come with the displayPort cable required to run freesync on an nVidia card so this will have to be purchased separately. Attempting to run on the HDMI cable provided will not allow you to enable the g-sync setting in the nvidia control panel.
Easy to assemble and build quality seems brilliant. Menu is awkward but i have yet to use a monitor which has a user-friendly alternative.
Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB with latest drivers as of 14/02/2019.
