'Deliquescence' is Catherine's first monograph work and deals with the themes which so fascinate her - the nude; aging; communication; decay.
She juxtaposes figures and textures and creates a dynamic and surreal world of strange creatures and mystical atmospheres. Her great skill lies in her ability to create an aesthetically pleasing combination of imagination and reality, a beautiful mixture of textures and figures. The results are usually stunning and always thought-provoking.
The work presented in this book shows a deep understanding of art and imagery - of the placing of form, light and human mechanics which together create a spell-binding new dimension which elevates the human figure to a new level of meaning and depth of interaction. On a superficial level the images are excellently constructed and very beautiful; on a deeper level, they lead the viewer to question and to seek answers.
For those interested in art and digital imaging, this is an excellent source of inspiration and ideas.
The book is beautifully produced and should adorn coffee-tables everywhere.
