The story begins with Ruby on vacation with Nick and his parents. Ruby has acquired a few "gifts" from her battle with Sirrush and now has to learn what they are and how to control them. Besides being able to see fairies, now she can hear their telepathic conversations when Anya and Brennan aren't speaking aloud to each other.
Accepting a challenge from Nick to swim to the nearest buoy, Ruby discovers she has acquired the ability to swim very fast, most likely as part of the abilities she acquired from Sirrush. On the way back to the beach, she has to pretend to be exhausted and swim slower to prevent Nick from becoming suspicious. Later, swimming alone by the pier, Ruby is trapped underwater by falling rocks. Little does she know that she has seriously angered someone, someone who has put out a hit on her life. Things are not looking good.
Thanks to the assistance of the mermaid who helped Brennan rescue her, Ruby now owes a debt to Celestine. Brennan has an idea of how she can repay the debt, but he isn't sharing the details. Not sharing the details of his plan makes Ruby nervous, but there's nothing she can do about it.
Deja Blue is a good sequel. The friends' adventures continue with challenges to overcome and new enemies to avoid. New fey creatures are introduced and Ruby's knowledge of the fey world is expanding by leaps and bounds. I think the audience this book is targeted for will really enjoy the story. I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
~~ Trolls ~~ Mermaids ~~ Dragons ~~ Fae ~~
As I re-enter the magical world of Ruby and her fae friends I'm once again immersed into another wild ride of an adventure!!
Your imagination runs ramped up as Ruby, along with her fae friends encounter trolls and mermaids. (oh no, this can`t be good because Ruby doesn't like fish!)
As you read Deja Blue you'll find yourself hooked as author Julie Cassar and her quirky loveable characters unfold so magnificently as words together continue in this amazing story.
I love the teen-age dialog that goes back and forth between the characters, Julie has nailed it perfectly in my opinion. So much so that I could quite easily see a teen-ager saying or talking the exact same way! Well done Julie Cassar...
Come along and enjoy this beautiful story or Ruby and friends as the very believable tale of magic, mystery and suspense is created just for us as the reader.
Brennan and Anya are franticly trying to find out who is after Ruby. (I love these two) why is Ruby in trouble again? Oh my, will Anya and Brennan ever find out who is after Ruby, and will it be in enough time if they do?
Ruby's gifts are going as each trial or adventure is encountered, ones that she never thought possible.
Author Julie Cassar is such a phenomenal in her writing style, as she captivates us all. Whether you're a YA or adult you will truly enjoy it just as I have. I promise you wont be disappointed one bit. You will fall in love with this series.
If you haven't yet to indulge yourself in the amazing world of Ruby, you are truly missing out on a terrific story and read. It will have you impatiently waiting for the next book to be released.
So beautifully written, with loveable characters that your mind and heart will be spinning on a roller coaster of a ride, so hurry up and jump on board as it comes to a slide.. But beware you are in for a dynamic ride!!! But I can promise you this ride wont end at that end of this book. So hold on tight.
Hurry up Ms Cassar, and give us some ore of Ruby and her friends so we can soar straight into "Sky Blue"

Angel Anne Reviews
Ruby Blue is a wonderful character. She can be a bit sarcastic, but what teenager isn't? She loves gardening, her converse shoes and ice cream. She is a normal teenager, but she has a secret. She can see fairies.
This story sees Ruby and her fairy friends, Anya and Brennan, having to face a most difficult challenge. Together with her best friend Jeremy, they must overcome danger and adversity to decide the fate of a couple in love. This is a most exciting and un-put-down-able read! I was completely hooked from the first page! Ruby, since her entanglement with Sirrush, the dragon from Fey, has been able to hear the telepathic communication between fairies. However, that's not the only legacy he left her with. As the story progresses, she finds out that she is also now has ties to the Water Court. There are revelations and surprises that kept me on the edge of my seat! The ending has me wanting to read the next book in the series as soon as possible!
Julie Cassar has written a fantastic YA romance that is fast paced, but it flows beautifully! I think that this book is most definitely one of the best YA books I have read so far this year! This book is filled with mermaids, trolls and fairies. Therefore, I highly recommend this book to those who love YA romance or fantasy genres. - Lynn Worton
