This is a great compilation for a variety of reasons. First because it contains music by one of the best bands of their time, second because it comes complete with a very informative and iteresting booklet that contains the band's history and chart related information, third because it contains previously unreleased content that will appeal to hardcore fans (like me!) and finally because even if your are not already a Cars convert this compilation has pretty much all of the best tracks from each of their albums. If you've ever liked The Cars at all buy this with confidence.

Not a bad little compilation with some ultra rare tracks but if you have The Cars back catalogue don't expect too much extra.

In my youth, I recorded from vinyl to cassette a compilation from 4 or 5 albums near exact to this Anthology. Tremendous!!

Music is such a personal thing. This Anthology, if you like the "Cars" music, is a good buy in my opinion.

Having seen the over enthusiastic review for this anthology I thought I'd add a bit of perspective.

OK - there are a handful of terrific, well-crafted pop tunes here and my fond memories of them inspired me to buy this. "My best Friend's Girl" is a classic (I still have a treasured 7'' picture disc). Virtually all of the good stuff happens early on in the first CD - the rest however, to my ears, re-defines the word "dated" - they sound like a terrible soundtrack to some hideous American teen-sex caper - it's just exactly how I don't want to remember the 80's.

Yes, the packaging, notes, pics etc are all lovingly compiled but it's the music I'm interested in - and I'm afraid for 80% of these two discs I just wanted to hide behind the sofa.

One disc of this band is plenty for anyone but a die-hard fan.
