I preferred the 2nd cd, the seamus haji mix. There wasn't a lull in the middle of his mix. The tempo was kept up throughout. The only trouble with a lot of these mix cds is that they are very " clean ". In my opinion they aren't necessarily the tracks you would hear when you are out and about.

This CD is, again, full of Defected's best releases. CD1 is full of Defected's main stream releases, with CD2 containing stuff that you are less likely to have heard. Seamus Haji & Smokin' Jo are two brilliant house DJs, who mix the songs beautifully (with some cool use of accapellas). But saying all this, it doesn't quite have the edge that DefCom 1 had. The songs are all good quality funky house, but it's been done before. If you want something to stick on at a party, go for this, but if you are looking for seriously cool funky house, go for DefCom1, or perhaps even one of the Subliminal/Ministry of Sound Sessions CDs.

I was so excited when this came through the door today. All I've been buying recently are Hed Kandi CDs, 'cause im really into funky house. I was searching the web for some other cds, and remembered that a kenny dope in the house cd i got a while ago was very good, so looked for some more defected label albums. This is a cd for pre-going out sessions and weekenders that last all weekend, or to stick on in the car. If you like good combinations of non mainstream house tracks then this is for you. Go on, buy, and enjoy.
