It is very easy to connect with other players online in Riptide and we didn't encounter any game freezes in our run through.
We did encounter a glitched trophy while collecting items. It is fairly easy to remedy if you check out the forums online but it may involve collecting all of the items again and that is why Riptide only gets 4 stars, because this game has been out long enough that it could have been patched. .
You have the option of importing your character from DI which seems to be a contentious issue between gamers. For me importing is the way as it gives a true sense of continuity and the chance to fully develop your character to the maximum level 70. This means of course it is not possible to gain all the skills available so you won't end up with a super, unstoppable character. Don't think that importing will make the game a walkover though as the undead still level with you from the start. You'll always face equal if not stronger opposition, even at level 70.
Riptide has ironed out the main problems I had with the original. Weapon degeneration which was far too rapid in DI is more balanced now. It does not appear as buggy as DI either. I completed all the missions without any problems and the programmers have put more "invisible walls" in place to prevent you from getting stuck in the scenery if like to go off looking for secret areas or shortcuts. The game does play noticeably slow than DI in some places, but for me this wasn't a real problem.
There are other cool additions which I would have loved to have seen in the original. One thing was the undead never actually attacked your bases in DI, but here sieges are a part of it throughout. Your group must protect your bases from sustained assault by the hoards of undead who attack in waves.Read more ›

I know this game is quite old but I recently started playing it again after completing the first game around 6-7 times. Read morePublished 4 months ago by Rodeoratsniffer
