I got hold of a copy of this as background research and found it was incredibly useful. Well written, with accessible but intriguing arguments, this is a great guide to the period that also cast lights on the present day situation.

Format: Paperback
I found this book an extremely useful and important account of the last days of the British empire in India and Palestine. Although these events have been much written about, the author succeeds in finding a new angle, delving deep into the mindset of the decision-makers, and examining the impact that their choices had on the historical development of these two conflict-torn regions. A very worthwhile read.
