Take yourself back to the start of the century, switch on your radio and you'll hear the reminisce of UK Garage resonating across the airwaves with Artful Dodger battling for chart positions with the likes of Steps, Westlife and S Club 7. Fast forward 12 months and after a catalogue of top 10 hits from Moloko, Fragma, Armand Van Helden, Darude, York, Sash!, Spiller, Modjo, Zombie Nation and Daft Punk something magical had happened; Dance Music's second coming! This is Decade - 2000 - 2009. This 3CD journey kicks off with the ultimate collection of club anthems on CD1 beginning with Eric Prydz and that video, before we move through an incredible selection of number 1 hits from the likes of Modjo, The Shapeshifters and Room 5 Feat. Oliver Cheatham. It's then time to put your hands up on CD2, with tracks from Fedde Le Grand, David Guetta Vs The Egg, Bodyrox, Calvin Harris, Tom Novy and Benny Benassi, before we end this epic album with an anthology of hi energy anthems from Dizzee Rascal, Kid Cudi vs Crookers, Alex Gaudino, Tomcraft, Zombie Nation and Darude. Ministry of Sound presents the ultimate collection of club anthems from THE decade of dance!

I agree the songs selection, for most part, is good. However, the customer is subject to a 'misdescription' of the product (from both Ministry of sound or the retailer Zoverstocks here) since nowhere (neither on the CD itself nor in the add from Zoverstock) it is said that all the tracks are actually not the original ones from the artist but have been changed by a DJ (usually at the beginning and the end of each track) and recorded and mixed into another song (cross fade). This is a breach of the terms of the Sale of Goods act 1979 regulating trading standards between a consumer and a trader (products should notably not be 'misrepresented' by the product's description).
All sorts of clients buy records: end users who will enjoy having a DJ mix of all tracks (which is very good here btw) and many DJs, including semi professionals like me, who cannot make use of any of these tracks which they consider damaged by somebody else's mix and useless for their DJ mixing work.
I have emailed Ministry of Sound group, uk, yesterday. I used to work in record labels doing compilations.
Zoverstock had the product in hands and should have checked that and warned the customer about the DJ mix.
Please note that usually, most labels would specify very clearly on their cover and advertising when a compilation is MIXED by a DJ, so that the customer is fully informed of the product before buying it. I hope they will correct that huge basic mistake in the future which a big famous label like them should not do at their stage. Thank you.
I'd recommend this album for anyone who is a fan of chart dance music and who was born in the late 80's. If I was to create an album named ' Soundtrack of my youth', this would be it.
You might think that I've been blinded by nostalgia in my rating of is album but if I think of past dance albums I've owned, there are usually 5 or 6 songs out of 20 that are 'hits'. This cd has safely 14+ hits on each of the 3 cd's, and that is why I give it 5 stars. It's also a great driving cd as the songs fade into one another.
Hope this helps.
