For Debbie Shore, taking a role as a presenter for children’s television in 1986 was the unlikely first step to becoming one of UK’s the most popular sewing designers.
From charming kids on ITV and acting in some of our favourite soaps, she went on to demonstrate sewing products for a shopping channel, before making the leap to designing her own patterns and sewing projects. Her prolific output has also included a whole library’s worth of bets selling sewing books, keeping the projects simple and understandable to encourage new sewers to have a go!
This has all contributed to elevating her to the position of one of the UK’s best-loved pattern designers, and the winner of Sewing Designer of the Year at the British Sewing Awards 2017.
Debbie has over 100 sewing tutorials on her award-winning You Tube channel.
