Really enjoyed Death on High, the characters are well developed and the plots more complicated and intriguing than "Separated at Death", J J Salkeld's first novel. Liked the fact that there were multiple plots running simultaneously throughout the novel, the originality of them and the insight into the characters personal lives.

I read Death on High for the strangest of reasons - the author shares an (unusual) surname with me, so I decided to read his book.
I have now purchased all three in the series, as it was one of the best books I have read this year.
I like detective stories, and this series is in the best tradition of British crime fiction, puzzles, humour and well-rounded characters, rather than big guns and heavy drama.
I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys crime thrillers such as Morse and Frost. Andy Hall is a great lead character and I can see this series being televised in future.

A cracking follow up to the first novel ( Separated at Death ) and I really enjoyed learning more about each of the police characters, as well as following a great storyline.
Ian Mann has to be the undisputed star of this book and I look forward to reading of him in later books.

This is the second book I've read by J J Salkeld and thoroughly enjoyed them both. I've tried other detective stories and apart from one other good British author I've got fed up with the extremes of plots, utterly foul language etc etc. Now on to the next J J Salkeld book........

A really good read. Moves at a cracking pace and was "unputdownable"! Nothing heavy going in this. Believable characters. Good plots. The second in the series and even better than the first.

Any reader who likes a good detective story will be ok with this. A great read. I really liked this book. It is a good mix of Police work, personal and private lives and it shows the wide differences between the 'real' policemen/women and the p.c. senior officers. I'm sure it happens today!

Just as good as the first in the series. Intriguing plot, great characters, atmospheric. And as with the best of detective novels, leaves you wanting more from your detective. An excellent read.

I decided to get this book as I grew up in Cumbria and had read very few crime novels set there. Stalked has a very sparing style with hardly any description of location or character; it is almost like reading the script of a radio play. However I did not find this a disappointment as your imagination fills in the blanks. A cracking good read.
