Colin Macintyre does it again, releasing yet another fantastic studio album choc full of excellent tracks. The Ballad of Ivor Punch and Bones are two of the immediate stand-out pieces however (as with all his other works) after a few playthroughs the other tracks come to their own - the lilting All That Love Remains, for instance.

Mull Historical Society excel in producing music that is both aurally pleasing and that conjures up vivid imagery, and Dear Satellite is no different. If you enjoy melodic pop/indy/folk music you could do far worse than picking up a copy of this (or indeed any of his previous studio MHS or solo albums).

As an aside if you ever get the chance to see him live make sure you do. Colin is a fantastic showman and storyteller, who really knows how to get the crowd going.

Colin MacIntyre continues to make excellent, sharply observed, yet beautifully crafted albums that have sharp lyrical edges hidden inside the mellifluous (always wanted to use that word) music. Many might call this album 'Folk' many others might call it 'pop', you could conceivably file it under 'singer-songwriter'. This would be wrong, as it is doing it a disservice trying to pigeon hole a work as absorbing as this one. If Aesgir ever got together with Edwyn Collins - he'd sound something like this. Hopefully that is a big enough encouragement for as many people as possible to listen to this album.
