When I started this book I wasn't quite sure I was going to like it. The first couple of chapters were no indication of how the book was going to unfold and I didn't really like River, the main character, but I'm glad I persevered. I went through a gamut of emotions with this story and more than a few tissues. The premise of the story has been detailed in previous reviews so I won't go through that again but I ended up absolutely loving this book and Jonathan, River's partner. It was a totally different storyline to any other book I have read and I would love a follow up. I've only recently got to know Kelly Collins books but I'm so glad I have.
If you want to get swept away in a story then pick up one of Kelly's books, I'll certainly be picking up more !!!

Wow what a great read this book was. I literally couldn't put it down. I loved the premise for the story, it's so different from most of the romance novels I've read lately, a gritty heroine, ready to do what it takes to succeed in life who finds her HEA in the most unexpected way. Well rounded supporting characters, who add to the storyline line, making you care not Just about the Hero and heroine, but also the other people in their lives. Great read and I'd highly recommend this novel.

The Dean's List - Kelly Collins 4.5 stars

Wow, this wasn't what I was expecting at all ! This was quite a unique story and so different from the norm. I really enjoyed reading River's story and her journey through her strange situations.

Without giving too much away .... River is living on the breadline and to continue through college needs a lifeline fast, her best friend admits her hidden secret and convinces River to apply for a 'hospitality' job!! Things are not always as they seem, River soon learns that every situation is very different, but does she have what it takes to survive a full year in this employment ?

I loved River and Jonathan's connection and the instant chemistry, also the very random encounters with Ben and Paul were brilliant! A great read which kept me captured and my heart went out to River whose beautiful personality managed to come through in every situation - even though her family had mentally beaten her over the years.

I'll certainly be on the look out for more from this author, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend.

I was sent a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book unleashes the most complex set of emotions of any I have read: passion, pity, fear, love, resentment, horror, hatred, tears, hope, fury and too many more to mention. It is exquisitely written and the only reason i haven't given it 5 stars is down to my own 'ick' factor and not a reflection on the quality of the book at all, its a long time since a book has wrenched so many emotions from me, almost leaving me a little dazed.

Kelly tackles a number of difficult topics head on: escort services, prostitution, rape and parental abuse, whilst these topics can very quickly bring a book to a screeching halt and stop the flow, this is not the case with this book. All of the above are topics that turn me off and I have a number of books that have remained unfinished once these topics are raised......not so with this book, whilst some of the subjects are upsetting the pages turned themselves and had me gripped, they were handled with care and cradled between fantastic passages of love, hope, passion and laughter. It's like a horror film, that you need to watch, but you do so peeking from behind a cushion, because you are completely hooked but terrified and a bit squeamish all at the same time. Fantastic!

Not just River and Jonathan, but all the characters you are introduced to in this book are strong characters, who instantly make you feel and form an opinion, not all are good opinions but the descriptions leap from the page to paint you an instant picture of each and every one. Some you like, some you fall instantly for, some you hate and others leave you wary, but all make you react and this is what makes this book so good.

I must of downloaded this book to my kindle and then for some reason forgot about it. My mistake! I have read several books by this author and have enjoyed them all, but this is by far her best. I was hooked on the story from the start and throughly enjoyed following the characters through their journey. This is a stand alone book and we'll worth a read, there is a shorter follow on book but I'd say it's more of a spin off rather than a part 2 and it's your choice if you want to read it rather being pushed into it by finding the book finishes with a huge cliffhanger like so many other books.

This is a far more gritty love story than I've read of Kate. It's well written and not the usual soppy love stories that seem to be churned out of late from authors that are pandering to the step brother and bad boy genres , this book was a breath of fresh air.
The characters are well rounded, the descriptions are colourful. I'm certainly go to be on the look out for more books fro this author .
