I thoroughly recommend this as essential reading for anyone working in politics, medicine, research and international organisations as well as responsible travellers. Jennings gives an up to date, well researched account of the complications for controlling this deadly disease. He illustrates how the mosquito is one step ahead of man's attempts to eradicate it and how this adaptable insect is in danger of winning the battle while humans allow egos and politics to get in the way of action and eradication programmes. Jennings describes his own experience of contracting malaria despite taking recommended precautions. It is a warning to everyone against complacency and procrastination in the fight against malaria carrying mosquitoes, which have no respect of race, colour or creed and seek to cross new geographical boundaries.

A very interesting account of a possible way forward towards eradication of mosquitos and the diseases they carry.

It was an interesting read, packed with facts and statistics but in no way boring. I came away enlightened.
