Sorry have not read it yet, saving for holidays. I am sure it will be as good as all her books.

HASH(0x9254ae7c) out of 5 stars It will help if you are a fan 11 Jan. 2012
By Victoria H - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
I needed some light reading after having recently finished several 500+++ page books, so I checked out Deadline. It is very light. Too light for me. But it may please fans.

If you are familiar with the Godmothers series by Michaels, you will probably slip happily into this book. There are four women of a certain age (I would say 60s) who have been friends forever and from all appearances seem to live together, or at least close enough to be together all the time. They have all done well in life, whether through marriage, design, or something else. One is a psychic (otherwise, I probably wouldn't have checked out the book). There are a collection of people around them, including a daughter and step-son who are central to the plot of this book. The book fills in these characters a bit, but only a bit. There are a number of private planes involved too. They don't have much personality.

The plot is pretty bare bones. A visit to the governor's mansion to have a seance. The step-son disappears at the same time a starlet (his client) disappears. They are later found, and everyone is ok. The housekeeper in the South Carolina house has a heart attack, but she is ok too, after surgery. Three pairs fall in love, but we see little development of these relationships. It is like a slice of life, though not one I'll ever see.

As I said, I read this book because I wanted something light, and I got exactly what I asked for. I would not really recommend this book to anyone who is not already a fan of Fern Michaels, and only in that case because I assume it is typical of her books.

HASH(0x9254b324) out of 5 stars Will the real Fern Michaels please stand up? 31 Jan. 2012
By Amy Green - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
Where has the respected author Fern Michaels gone? I can't believe this author is the same one who has written so many really wonderful books, and is now resorting to these tacky little "harlequins"

Where is the author of the Vegas, Texas and Kentucky series? Where are the wonderful books that she wrote in the late 1990's and early 2000's?

If I were an author, and of course I am not, I would rather go out with a bang instead of a little fizzle.

To write this drivel about four sex crazed over the hill females...and no I won't call them ladies...is sad. I don't care how comical some of the story is, the rest is vulgar, and crass.

Enough said.

HASH(0x9254b6f0) out of 5 stars Very boring read 10 Jun. 2012
By Poker Lady - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I am a great fan of Fern Michaels and have read all her books throughout the years. This book is very slow moving. The majority of the book dealt with Chris missing. This was the focus of the book. I feel Fern Michaels can certainly do better than that. I could not wait to finish this book. I did read it every chance I got. I know Fern Michaels can do better than this. I spoke to my co workers who have read it also and sorry to say nobody liked it. Fern please give us a better read for the summer.

HASH(0x9254b7d4) out of 5 stars Don't bother.... 14 Jun. 2012
By Ann Nanamouse - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This book is one of the worst examples of both mystery and romance. I almost discarded it upon the first chapter but decided to give it a chance. It kept getting worse and worse. It starts off with missing people and jumps to a heart attack victim. In addition, the romance line is very predictible. And... there is all this paranormal junk interlaced within the story. I just wanted to groan. This is my first Fern Michaels experience and it has soured me towards her.
