To call this a travel book is stretching the definition too far. "If you have seen one large South American city you have seen them all", is just one memorable quote from the author early on in his journey. The book is mainly about the author's stomach problems and him telling us how wonderful he is with women, although most of the women he meets throughout his journey, don't seem to share this opinion. He blames his failures with women on the travel guides he reads and friends who get in his way. He seems to think that the other travelers he meets are "gringos" and he is something else. All foreigners from outside Latin America are called gringos in both Spanish and Portuguese. My advice is to save the money you would spend on this and buy a real travel book by Paul Theroux or another talented travel writer. One star is too much for this book, but unfortunately Amazon insists on at least one.

This book is a travelogue of South America and is honest, dryly funny, and very well written. Roosh's writing style - direct, clear and very self deprecating - suits the subject well indeed. I read the whole thing in more or less one go, it was that interesting. Don't let a second-hand, poor opinion of the author cheat you out of a good, entertaining read.

Endless repetition about the author getting drunk, trying to get laid and how he coped with his stomach problems. Sorry, but if truth be told, this is one of the worst travel books that I have ever read.
