The De'Longhi Family Fry Coolzone F22310CZ is a fantastic fryer. With a food capacity of 1kg, it's big enough to help feed the family, or an easy way to create perfect results for a dinner party. A variety of neat features help to make the Coolzone F22310CZ one of the most convenient and easy to use fryers available.
The "Cool Zone" under the basket prevents fallen food particles from burning ensuring that the oil stays fresher and cleaner for longer. The stainless steel removeable bowl is easy to clean and dishwasher friendly, as are the basket and lid, whilst an adjustable thermostat with an indicator light lets you know exactly when you're ready to go. The fryer's basket can be fastened into a higher position, making food drainage simple and easy. Convenient front and rear sunken handles make moving the fryer possible and as these and the upper handles on the bowl are made of cool-touch plastic, you'll never have the nasty surprise of a hot handle. There is a permanent metallic filter in the lid which reduces vapour and the large viewing window allows you to check the cooking process. The fryer will shut-off automatically if the heating element is not present or if it begins to overheat, so any potential accidents are no longer a worry.
Perhaps one of the best features of De'Longhi's fryer, the patented "Perfect Clean" system, is that the oil can be drained out through the drainage tap and it can be completely taken to pieces and the majority of parts put in the dishwasher, ensuring perfect cleaning is a simple procedure.

There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
Anyway the cooking was excellent - it looks smart and is easier to clean, Great pan and a good purchase.
Nearly 4 years later.... we've just ordered a new one of these as the old one has gone to deep fryer heaven. I have loved it and it is by far the best fryer I've had and is so easy to clean. I didn't hesitate in ordering the same model again.
My last fryer had a collection and storage container underneath, with a filter above it, so it filtered the oil every time you used it so you could wash it. On the one hand, this was very convenient. However, although cleaning the main bowl was fairly straightforward, the gradual build-up of sticky residue on the oil box underneath was a huge pain, and resulted in the closure valve sticking periodically. It was almost impossible to get it clean, and even then you had to use caustic oil removal aids.
This one doesn't have such a container. You either leave the oil in the bowl, or drain it off via the tap into a separate container you have to supply yourself. I was aware of this before I bought it. I guess I will do a periodic drain and clean and see how that goes.
It heats up very quickly. Although it holds less oil than my previous fryer - about half as much - the frying basket is deceptive in that it holds much more than I expected going by its appearance.
The manual is slightly confusing when it comes to the use of solid fats. The pictograms say you shouldn't use solid fat, but the text clearly refers to the use of these, advising that you drain while still warm to prevent it solidifying, and to melt it first before putting it in the main bowl. I think what they mean in their pictograms is that you shouldn't put solid oil directly in the bowl and turn on the heater. I'm using Rapeseed Oil at the moment, so it isn't an issue for me, but at least I'll know if I want to try it in future.
Note that although it is described as stainless steel, it is actually painted white. It looks quite nice.
The manual makes what ought to already be obvious very clear indeed: frying things which have a lot of moisture in them creates steam. A lot of steam. As much steam as you'd get if you were using a pan over a gas flame, or a cauldron over an open fire. The fact that it is one of those new-fangled contrapt-o-mabobs which uses electricity does not mean that it produces EXTRA steam, so don't pay too much attention to reviews which turn this into an issue.
An apparent safety feature appears to be that if the removable heating element isn't seated properly on to the metal case, it won't turn on. I guess this means that you need to keep the metal casing clean otherwise you'll think there is a problem with it when there isn't.
My last fryer only had four temperature settings - 160º, 170º, 180º, and 190ºC - which made double-frying chips a bit of a nuisance, as 160ºC is too hot for the first fry. This one is continuously variable, and I am going to test the dial settings at some stage to see how accurate it is. However, on my first use I double-fried some chips - firstly at the dial setting of 130ºC until they looked almost cooked (about 5-6 minutes), then at 180ºC until golden. They were just right.
From what I've seen this first week, it was a good purchase.
- Oil drain and filter feature
- Large 1KG capacity
- Very sturdy Stainless Steel construction
- Takes some time to heat up
Built like a tank, very sturdy in comparison to my last fryer. 1KG is decent capacity for 4 people.
The main reason I bought this was the fact that most of it is composed of Stainless Steel and none of the oil/food is in contact with plastics unlike my last fryer.
Also, love love looove the oil drain feature which allows you to filter the oil from food particles, allowing you to reuse the oil.
Other than the time it takes to heat up which could be improved (10-15mins)...can't really fault it.
