Product Description

Lonely The Brave release their debut album, 'The Day's War', via Hassle Records.

"… stuffed with so many stand out moments that it feels like not just a force of nature, but a bold new blueprint for British Rock music." - Rock Sound

"The hype surrounding them is entirely justified… the start of something extraordinary for the band." - Kerrang!

"A band whose name will soon be up in lights, whether they like it or not." - NME "'The Day's War' is fit to bursting with anthems of disaffection that will keep them in festival slots for years to come." - Mojo

2013 proved to be a groundbreaking twelve months for the Cambridge five-piece, playing festivals such as Download and Reading & Leeds, supporting Bruce Springsteen at the Olympic Park and opening for Deftones, all alongside the release of their first EP, 'Backroads', to much critical acclaim.

2014 started with the band playing a number of European dates in France and Holland, followed by their first headline tour of the UK, including a sold out show at London's Cargo. With The Great Escape and Download, plus many further festival appearances scheduled along with the much anticipated release of 'The Day's War', 2014 will surely witness the continued, rapid ascent for an act that Rock Sound say they "wholeheartedly believe could become the biggest band on the planet."

I love this band! Went to see them, unknown, at Open in Norwich and they were a revelation. Came away deeply affected - they touch something at the core. This album didn't spoil the experience but consolidated it - it stays with me. Soaring, diving, gut-wrenching honesty - this is what music is about. Thank you.

Lonely the Brave, hailing from Cambridge, have been sitting on this album for a while and I think that's what makes this debut album such a fantastic experience for the listener. British rock music is starting to rise from the ashes with (at the time of writing) Royal Blood's album sitting atop the album chart - this is, in my opinion, better.

Dave's (vocals) lyrics are haunting at times and suggest he has gone through some hard times but as the album continues you see an element of hope riding throughout. The lyrics are purely his work and you can see the amount of effort that has gone into this.

The music? Phenomenal. Songs like "Call for Horses" and "The Blue, The Green" are pure stadium rock where as "Dinosaurs" and "Kings of the Mountain" show that this band isn't just all about the sound but have a more melodic sound too.

You will also find some absolute belters on here that will make you pound the tarmac on a run or get a lot work done, namely "Islands" and "Black Saucers".

As debuts go, I haven't heard better in a very long time.

Lonely the Brave are going places and if there is one album that you pick up and think "maybe" this one isn't it - this is one that you should think "definitely" - it's brilliant.

On a side note, if you have the opportunity to see this band live then do it. Fantastic.

This album is simply stunning. Everything is great, and his vocals are actually awe inspiring. It's the kind of album you listen to with your headphones in playing it loud and it makes you feel alive. I can see these boys going very far in the rock world...

This is a brilliant album that has grown on me more and more, a real soundtrack of your life album. I say this as a nearly 40 something metal fan who never lost his love for Pearl Jam and the so called softer side of rock and metal. It's hard to describe why this band and record are special, my take is that they exude a feeling of goodness, you cannot make music like this without having good souls.

But that's not to say it doesn't rock, and it does have teeth. All of the songs are great, some immediate some less so. It works as an album too, makes more sense played in its entirety. I bought this along with Royal Blood to support a British band, this to me was the album of 2014 and I will cherish it. Looking forward to the next one gentlemen!

If you're into more classic styles of rock and metal don't just regard this band as 'another tween band singing about love and growing up and playing all their pussy songs made of simple power chords with no emotion' These guys are incredible. If you listen properly through headphones their is so much going on. The rhythms are so groovy and big and the riffs and guitar licks are so perfectly written. The vocalists tone is some very special and you can feel the amount of power and emotion they all put into their songs. The chord structures are so interesting and the section changes are so smooth and expertly executed. You will be listening to how this style is suppose to done.

Fantastic debut album! This band have much to show us, they sound mature yet fresh, showing how good it is to take a good amount of time to work on a debut album. Exactly what Rock Music needs, and UK delivering good music as always!

Certainly one of my favorite albums of 2014 and quite possibly of all time. This is a real gem which doesn't come along all that often. Well worth the money.
