I bought the Warm White option of these Ascher bulbs. I was a bit concerned that these had a wide beam of 120 degrees whereas the halogen bulbs I was replacing had a narrow 36 degree beam. However the temptation of using less than 1/10th as much electricity and a much cheaper price than I paid a few years ago for similar bulbs overcame my hesitation.
I was delighted to find that the level of light and the colour of the light were almost identical to the halogen bulbs, and the wider beam actually gave a more even lighting of the kitchen.
The bulbs fitted into the ceiling recessed light fittings with no problems at all, being the same size as the halogen.
After writing this review I shall be ordering another box of these to continue my quest for a lower electric bill.

I have now purchased a pack of 10 of the daylight white and the difference between warm white and the daylight white is like chalk and premium cheese. These daylight are so much brighter, but the additional brightness is not in your face or dazzling your eyes, whilst brighter it is in no way intrusive. I should have purchased daylight in the first place. Go for these you will not regret it, and at a very competitive price so a really top quality product.
My previous review was for the warm white, but my general comments still apply.

Purchased these to replace a batch of 12 lamps from B & Q late June 17 c/w 3 light units for our kitchen. The B & Q lamps were £7.99 for a pack of 3 so came to £32. Although stated at 15000 hours life ( 2 years ), 2 lamps lasted just over 400 hours and 1 lamp just 4 hours, so not impressed.
These Ascher lamps have a higher lumen rating, and at 4w compared to the others at 5.5w. They also have 8 x led's in the lamp circuit compared to the others at 2. The front lens is a clear design giving a very good spread of light, compared to the others which have a patterned effect surrounding a small centre lens, so light output and spread is limited, and gave us a problem with creating shadows.
So far we are very impressed with these Ascher lamps, much brighter, no shadows, less watts, and a much better build standard. PLUS they come with an 18 month warranty. Time will tell on their life in actual use, but we should have purchased these thro Amazon at the time we got the fittings, and saved a decent amount of money, but hindsight is a wonderful option. Highly recommended by us.

I love these bulbs. What a difference they make. No more yellow light but nice bright white. Only thing they do show up any wallpaper paste left on wallpaper but hot soap water sorted that. Have just bought another pack of these bulbs. Totally converted now no going back to yellow dull lighting.

Wow! What a difference.

These lights produce such a white light. I don’t know how I ever went on with the old-fashioned yellow light. It genuinely feels like you’re room has windows as walls.

The light it so close to daylight, I often forget to turn the light off because I think it’s light coming through the window. It doesn’t matter though because they take practically no energy when on.

Highly recommended.

These lights as very bright, especially considering their very low power consumption. However, they are a glaring, cold, white and that may not suit some people.
To be fair they are clearly described but I was not quite ready for just how glaring white they are. Something to get used to.

However, the wider angle they cover does satisfy my requirement for less harsh shadows, where previous, narrower beams, did not overlap so much given quite harsh shadows, these lights are much better in that regard.

I've had 8 of these lights fitted for around six months now and they are all still working fine with none failing.

They give off a bright light on the whiter end of the spectrum so very good for kitchens and halls and bathrooms but probably not the best for a bedroom or lounge. They are also very energy efficient also worth paying a bit extra for these compared to cheap inefficient ones such as halogen bulbs. Great value compared to buying them on the high-street also!

I am changing all the lighting for new LED, I chose this product for ratings and cost.
Energy efficiency scored 4 stars as it was A*
Brightness scored 5 stars as it is excellent 400lm 6000k white light.
Longevity 5 stars 30000h.
Eco environment 4 stars no mercury content but did have plastic bulb holder that could have been cardboard see photo 2.
The look of the bulb is frosted glass but when light is on frosting does not show the look against a traditional lamp can be seen in photo 3 also 4w against 40watts means more light less power overall I rated 5 stars very happy with cost of bulbs in the 10 pack will pay for themselves by energy savings.
