Kamtin Mohager is the creative force behind the Los Angeles based Electro/Alt Rock band The Chain Gang of 1974. The band's 2014 album, Daydream Forever is an intoxicating blend of 11 radio-worthy synth anthems. Mohager's vocals are at their most versatile, trading between cascading falsetto arpeggios, Punk Rock throat thrashing, and minimal Shoegaze crooning. Daydream Forever has its moments of direct allusion, but ultimately it sets a new high-water mark for the effortless incorporation of multiple genres and periods of music into a remarkably consistent Rock 'n' Roll manifesto.

If you are like me, then that means you probably first heard of this band by the use of the song 'Sleepwalking' in Grant Theft Auto V. If that is the case, then you are probably wondering 'What if the album only has one good song?' Let me answer that question by explaining that 'Daydream Forever' is full of top quality songs, just like 'Sleepwalking'. It's true that this song is one of the best on the album, but the likes of 'You', 'Mouth', 'Miko' and 'Godless Girl' are almost certain to keep you satisfied.
The first song is a weak opener and the band name is one of the worst I've heard in recent times, but the album itself is superb. I would recommend this to anyone who likes bands like 'Imagine Dragons', 'Bastille' or 'One Republic'.
The packaging of the cd is also note worthy with a small book of the lyrics, as some one who appreciates CDs and feel there sound is better than mp3 and I'm willing to pay the money rather than a free down load.
It's a great album that has it's roots firmly in some big shoes , it reminded me of phantogram , nine inch nails and a few other great acts.
Great melodic sounds with great lyrics to boot , a must buy for an audio lover or song lover.

Only through my son, who had downloaded Sleepwalking, after playing GTA.
One Thing Leads To Another (to borrow a song title) and I heard the song. I asked
him. Who is that? From there I researched and purchased both discs.
Chain Gang is the perfect amalgamation of 80s era sound. Chain Gang would be
like the love child to Tears For Fears, Talk Talk and others. Phenomenal discovery.
I'm also a fan of Foster The People and Of Monsters And Men and this has recently
entered the rotation.
