5.0 out of 5 stars Fan-freaking-tastic! 8 Aug. 2012
By Becky A. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I don't write reviews as often as I should, but when I saw there was only a one star review for this series I had to post. The writing is awesome and I was pulled in from page one. It's an adult story with sex (not all that graphic if you've read some of the more popular stuff that's out right now!) and lot's of cussing and if you're offended by that, don't buy it. I loved the humor the author managed to squeeze in with all the heartbreak. I loved every page and will read everything this author releases! If you're looking for your next series to read....THIS IS IT!

5.0 out of 5 stars Action packed paranormal read. 22 Aug. 2014
By xrayer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
If you want to read about shape shifters, guardian angels, and witches with action all around then pick up this book. The Day of Sacrifice centers around the first born supernatural being offered as a sacrifice to the Gods on their 21st birthday. However Flora and Julian decided to change this custom 3 days before her sacrifice. This is when the action begins and it never stops. Each book is about a different couple and it helps you see the story from each POV.

It is a great paranormal read with many different characters. You watch each character learn to use their supernatural power and grow. They also make new friends and find lovers along the way. The action keeps you turning the pages and rooting for the group to win against the Gods so there will be no more sacrifices.

A paranormal book that will keep your interest through every page and story.

I received a gift copy in exchange for an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars I loved getting lost in this story. 27 May 2013

Ms Benefiel has a such a talent for character development. Every character in her books leaves me wanting more. The Day of sacrifice (omnibus) was was no exception. The story line was full of twists and turns throughout - nothing was predictable but it was very fluid and pieced together very well. I loved the "hot and steamy" mixed in with the drama and adventure. This was yet another great read by a talented author.
4.0 out of 5 stars When you just can't see yourself being a lamb to the slaughter why not start a rebellion. 23 Dec. 2014

{{** Some Spoilers Alert **}}This Omnibus is a collection of short stories all culminating toward the same ending. Each of the six books centers around a part of a Rebellion against the Gods who demand a Sacrificial virgin on their 21st Birthday. The Sacrifices are the first born of the Supernatural world, for giving up their first born they receive bounty from the Gods which means that some families get more due to their status and wealth while others get almost nothing. Weres, Shifters, Vamps and Witches must all give up a first born. All those slated to be sacrificed have an assigned Guardian Angel to protect them from other families who want to break a families power hold, or just to make sure that virgins make it to the alter intact. Each book is not very long and can easily be read in less then an hour making the Omnibus a great relaxing read before bed. It is an Adult set of books because every book has someone falling in love or meeting their mates, the sex is tastefully done and not overly pornographic. Book 1 centers around a young woman three days from her sacrifice, her Father crossed a business associate who put out a hit on her. While a friend is being sacrificed his guardian Angel saves her from being killed. He tells her of a prophesy that will end the senseless sacrifices of the fist born and they set off to start a rebellion. Book 2 is the actual start of the fight and escape of those they consider their inner circle that includes the Mother of the friend sacrificed just days before. Book 3 centers around the twin of the main character and her boyfriend being captured by the Angel Leader determined to break them down and remold them as spies. Book4 tells the tale of two characters a were and a Vamp/witch hybrid and there coming to love and trust each other. Book 5 centers around two female guardians that search for others to join the rebellion and their history and efforts to save those they can before the Gods have all the other Guardians killed. Book 6 is the culmination of all the tricks, twists and betrayals and help from unforeseen forces that allow the Rebellion to succeed in over throwing the Gods, ending of Sacrifices of the first born. S.W. Benefiel writes a very nice book and splits it into manageable novellas, they make a quick read for a lunch break or an evening relaxation. The characters you cheer for or boo at seem realistic if you can suspend reality and step into a world where Supernaturals, Angels and greedy Gods abound. There is just enough twists turns and betrayals, some that turn into allies. It is not boring or super silly, it really does come across as a whole book if you read the Omnibus but each book can be gotten separately if you want to read it in short bursts. I enjoyed it and have no problems saying it's worth the money to buy it.
