Shockingly Poor Design

Dawson's Creek is a great show, but the packaging of this box set leaves a lot to be desired. Why is it so hard for manufacturers to design quality box sets nowadays? It's as if no thought goes into the how the discs are stored. The discs in the DC box set lie on top of each other. There isn't even a little bit of space between them to avoid damage. I can guarantee they'll get scratched no matter how careful I am. It's also incredibly fiddly to get them in and out. I wish I had spent the extra money and bought the box set with the seasons in individual cases.

Groundbreaking TV show that paved the way for so much more. So much fun watching it all again. Genuinely shocked at how much this show got away with for its time. Made with real heart and sometimes with a tongue-in-cheek charm, it still stands up today, with some of its inventive creators having gone on to make cool shows like The Walking Dead and Californication.

This literally is my childhood & these kind of shows can never really be recreated these days. I genuinely think that after watching this as a teenager - it had a fundamental way in my outlook on life. The innocence of the 90s is magical. One of the DVD's was a bit rough though but otherwise Capesides amazing..

Great series, poor boxset

I love Dawson's Creek and although I bought this boxset AGES ago, I've never got round to watching all the way through. A couple of months ago, I made a concerted effort to start at the beginning and watch right to the end. All of the discs in seasons 1 thru 4 were perfectly fine but as soon as I got into season 5, the problems started. Several episodes on several discs skipped, froze or the video went out of sync with the audio. The discs themselves to the eye were in perfect condition, no scratches, smudges, fingerprints etc but skipped as though they were badly damaged, this was when I was watching on my laptop so I swapped over to my DVD player and it was just as bad. It's such a shame as seasons 5 and 6 are the only ones that I didn't watch when DC was on TV and I was really looking forward to finally seeing them :(

I could write a book about what Dawson's Creek means to me, but I won't because everything positive about this series has already been said many times before. Watching DC is a journey. Along the way you get to know the characters intimately - you relate to them like friends, you agree with them, you fall out with them; you feel their anxieties - all without even realizing it. That's the brilliance of this series. Some of the episodes appear not to progress the story at all, and to be honest they probably don't, but for me that kind of adds to realism of it all - exciting things don't happen every day. I wasn't into DC when it first came out, but I'm so glad I didn't let this box set pass me by.

Excellent value, great present for wife

Bought this for my wife, who loved the show when it was first on. You certainly get plenty of entertainment for your money, although unfortunately there was a scratch on disk 6 of season 3, which meant 5-10 minutes were unwatchable. We only found this out after the online returns period (it took a while to get to disk 6 of season 3!), but Amazon sent out a whole new set straight away. Excellent customer service as usual.

The only disappointment is the bland generic theme music used for the opening titles of the later seasons, because of rights issues apparently. But hey, only a minor thing. You can always have the CD nearby for some home-made dubbing :)

Hang out with the gang:

Dawson:
The spoiled, naive and dreamy only child, whom we all love and hate.
Joey:
The sweet, sarcastic and insecure tomboy. She's adorable.
Pacey:
The kind, lazy and bad boy. He's SO lovely.
Jen:
The stubborn, honest and bitchy girl, we envy and like.
Jack:
The shy, tentative and good guy. What's to say.
Andie:
The annoying, lovable and determined know-it-all. Try and keep up with her.
Audrey:
The girl, who have it all. But no self-esteem. She's cool and she's a pain.

Only problem is the packaging. It would cool if the new edition was available in Europe.

Agree with a number of other reviews, if you're in a certain age bracket you'll have seen some if not all of the episodes, once you watch one you have to keep watching, everyone can relate to the storylines at some point and the fact it isn't some sex filled, "Hollywood" hyped run of the mill rubbish seen these days is still very refreshing! I could and have watched this over and over and never tire of watching it, I got it for around the £30 which is a steal!! Cannot recommend enough!
