Product Description

From the Back Cover

Darkness, air, water, and sky will shake the forest to its roots.

The young cats who set off on a quest many moons ago have returned with a chilling message: the Clans must move to a new home, or risk destruction. But the cats have no idea where to go. What they need is a sign from StarClan. . . . --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

About the Author

Erin Hunter is inspired by a love of cats and a fascination with the ferocity of the natural world. As well as having a great respect for nature in all its forms, Erin enjoys creating rich mythical explanations for animal behavior, shaped by her interest in astrology and standing stones. --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.

In the first of the new series, we found out who died in the battle in the last book of the first series, and that was pretty sad. But in this one, there's enough gloom to make you cry! It seems Erin Hunter is determined to bump of all of the cats that were in first series, and a few more as well! In this book, the questing cats have finally made it home, and have found it being destroyed by humans. A decent book (not the best yet, but still good), but there is no point reading it if you haven't read the others.

What is it about the third book of a series, I always seem to enjoy them so much. There's no doubt that some parts of these books are incredibly gloomy and I've wept buckets over them but there's always HOPE. I've hated the destruction but it works because we care so much about what happens to the cats. You don't want to love these fluffy people because life is so fragile for them and they could join Starclan on the next page. At any moment your favourite could be struggling with twolegs, monsters, starvation, you name it, but love them you do - so much so that you spend extraordinary amounts of your time reading. If you haven't picked up the first book 'Into the Wild' do so now.

A Kid's Review on 10 Aug. 2010
Format: Paperback
A very interesting read from Erin Hunter. This book is full of suspence and is great for cat lovers. It shows what life would be like outside of houses for a cat, and how it would feel to be free. I particulaly like the bit when Mudfur dies and and the four clans (Thunderclan, Shadowclan, Riverclan and Windclan) begin their journey to their new home when twolegs are desroying their old one.
