so nice to get quite as many movies all in one go; had previously purchased 'lost highway' as a single item ; and now so many more related items can be enjoyed at virtually the same price; so this is real value too...

Perfect for a new comer to lynch like myself. Guided my way into his amazing worlds with this boxset. I did have to watch the Twin Peaks before watching A fire walk with me. I'm presuming I would have been somewhat lost or uninterested if I didn't know the story of Laura Palmer before hand, doing it this way was so satisfying. Amazing value for money as most of the films on the set are essential viewing for any film buff.

I enjoy David Lynch's short films more than his bigger movies - though I was recently impressed with `Inland Empire'. (which incidentally is not included in this set - see my review for that title) He is definitely a 'Man of Art' and I like unique artists. I think his bigger movies would be more enjoyable for me at least, if there was not so much blood... Most is not necessary and it can spoil an otherwise great and artistic movie in my opinion. Even in Eraserhead someone has to have a nose bleed... : - {

This is a tremendously great value-for-money set which includes his major movies, and many of his greater shorts - my favourite of those being `The Grandmother' which was made in 1970, and in my opinion probably his best ever piece. I also LOVE `Steps'!

My favourite of his major movies thus far, (as most of David's work does require a second viewing in many cases to fully appreciate) is `Eraserhead'. I really liked the backdrop to this movie; futuristic and industrial sounds and scenes, coupled with lots of deserted areas and very thought-provoking.

This set comes in a very nice fold out box with individual storage places for each DVD, with a sort of 'postcard' included for each movie. I only wish the box had not been cardboard - I hate them; they tend to get bent and creased with the most careful of use and handling far too easily and quickly... The bonus DVD contains most of his short works.

I'm giving this five stars for sheer value alone; I mean where else can you get so many movies and so much bonus material for such a low price as this!?? I'll probably feel better at reviewing each movie individually at some time later having given them all a second go to see if my opinions have changed in any way.

David Lynch - a unique and truly fascinating man!
