The BEST David Hamilton Book

First off this book from David Hamilton is a HARDCOVER book, not a softcover as stated by Amazon. It is similar in size and shape to his 25 Years of An Artist but larger. This self-titled book was published only in France and is made up almost entirely of nudes, some previously seen and many never before published (it came out in 2006, 8 years after the retrospective book "25 Years of an Artist" which was released in 1998). The printing is on a satin finish paper which gives each photo the appearance of an original print. Both in content and quality this is easily the best book of David Hamilton's career. Difficult to get a hold of since it was never released to the U.S. audience, but highly recommended.

David Hamilton first came to my attention when I was really young, my parents would let me watch his movies which I have been forever grateful for. This was the first of his photography books that I have ever purchased and I must say how gorgeous it is. From cover to cover my mind is blown by the majesty of his work. Sometimes I feel that society has ruined beauty but thankfully David Hamilton exists and his exquisite eye has captured both innocence and beauty to inspire us to think back to a time when beauty was respected not exploited.
