Dave Hamilton is a real outdoors man. He explores lost parts of the UK, he can forage and grow his own food and he loves to walk and cycle.
He has now written three books including his latest and most ambitious to date 'Wild Ruins'. In order to write the book he had to learn how to drive, teach himself photography, raise the money for the UK wide trip and overcome his fear of heights (and cows).
His first book, and the one which launched his career, was the critically acclaimed Self Sufficient-ish Bible. He penned the book with his twin brother following the pairs experimentations in Self-Sufficiency and low cost/low carbon living.
His second book "Grow your food for free" is quickly becoming a cult classic - it effortlessly mixes surreal humour with his years of thrifty gardening knowledge.
Dave has a degree in Nutrition and Food Science from Oxford Brookes University and a diploma in Horticulture, he is also a trained educator.
Dave lives in the South West of England where he teaches and writes about horticulture and wild food with real knowledge and plenty of good humour.
