“A life without rules? For a moment I freeze in panic. I’ve already broken so many of them.”

Dahlia Ross is a dating expert. She has rules to keep her life and herself under control. Without rules, her life was chaotic. She’s a matchmaker extraordinaire who finds it hard to meet someone for herself. When she meets Jack Carraway, his effect on her is such that she finds herself throwing caution to the wind and breaking all her own rules. To absolute, no-doubt-about-it smithereens.

“Always be unpredictable. That’s the way to a woman’s heart. And into her pants. With Dahlia Rossi, it’s interesting that the pants come second.”

Jack Carraway flies by the seat of his pants. He’s an impulsive, cocky, happy-go-lucky guy who loves women and having fun. When he sees Dahlia for the first time, he’s captivated by her beauty. Then he’s captivated by her wit and fascinated by her rules. He’s surprised and scared by how much he wants her. And, not just for her body.

“I think I’m catching feelings for this man.”

Dahlia knows Jack’s type. Add in the fact that they live on opposite sides of the country. This can only be a short-term thing. However, as they spend more time together and suddenly become entwined in each other’s lives, things really aren’t as simple as all that.

This was fun, sexy rom-com with great banter (although I must say that there was almost a flippant feel to it). Dahlia and Jack are opposites when it comes to their outlook on life. Dahlia needs Jack to shake the rigidity of her life, and Jack needs Dahlia to bring some control to his. It was fun watching them bring balance to each other’s lives, featuring a few colourful side characters along the way.

I always enjoy reading a Poppy Dunne novel, and this one is no exception. There are so many things to appreciate with this book, and Dahlia was one of them. She was the sort of character that as a teen wasn't appreciated for her quirks and felt more order was needed to achieve in life. So she created a whole lot of rules and became a professional dating expert. Although rules are meant to be broken, just ask Jack. He is the total opposite with the rules. He is a self made billionaire who lives life to the fullest and takes no prisoners. The thing that holds dear to them both is family. Jack maybe flippant with certain things, but when push comes to shove, his family is the most important, which endears Dahlia more.

The first night Dahlia meets Jack, she brakes so many rules. The attraction is undeniable, and they hit it off straight away. They have great chemistry that brings out her sassiness and his wit, the banter is funny. The beginning seemed a little rushed and forced, but once I got to know these two and their quips, I fell right into the story and got a kick out of it. It is told in dual POV, which I am a big fan of and works extremely well for this breezy schtick.

This was a fun read. The storyline was good, the characters awesome and some really hot bedroom scenes.

Dahlia is a successful matchmaker, she runs her own business giving dating advice to women would are struggling to find their ONE, based on her personally developed set of rules. In the process of helping others find they significant partner she has failed a finding love herself. Until she meets Jack and throws all her rules aside.

A funny story that includes howler monkeys, attack swans, fancy dress costumes and ice skating with penguins that all contribute to finding HEA.

I loved Poppy Dunne'S book, this is my first read by this author.

Dahlia is a dating guru helping ladies get their dream man and Jack is your average eccentric billionaire. They meet at a gala where Dahlia is accompanying a client for support and Dahlia breaks her rule of "Do not sleep with a guy on the first date". Form there they are on the road towards their HEA with a few small hiccups on the way.

I loved that the author tried to normalise a mental health issue and that Jack didn't even bat an eyelid when faced with this.

The secondary characters were hilarious and made the book more fun!

All in all it was a great light read and this will definitely not be the last book I read by this author!

Cocky billionaire meets rule-maker matchmaker, it doesn't look too daunting, isn't it? But THIS billionaire and THIS matchmaker does! I can say they're nothing but crazy, funny and adorable. And much like couple, the sweets lovingly described and generously sampled in this book, this sweet story will give you some sweetness-induced swooning and drooling.
