Paul is quite a shallow guy, surrounded by people coupling up. He meets a handful of women through the lonely hearts and they all seem to be stereotypes. Here we have the single mother (tick), the young, crazy one, the old, crazy one, the unavailable posh one, then finally The One. The One he ends up with sounds like everything a pretentious middle aged man would want so I'm sure it's a happy ending but it left me all a little cold.
This could have been a heart felt, honest book about searching for the one but the author is glib and, as mentioned above, terribly shallow. He is balding and unemployed yet still believes he's a catch. That's the funniest thing about the book.
If you want a great, funny book, then get this, you wont be disopointed.
This is a very funny account of Paul Reizin dating various women from 'The Guardian' classified column.
He explains his tactics in detail before narrating his escapades. This way he makes the readers feel the same shock he expereinces during his encounters.
His "lessons learnt" are funny.
Definitely this book has changed the way i see the personalised Ads in newspapers.
