I found this book a total inspiration! I had heard a lot about Du Bois but had been reluctant to read any of his works. However I am so glad I did because what I found was a series of writings that revealed a little of his tenacity, determination and passion for human rights. He discusses the impact that other inspirational blacks such as Coleridge Taylor, Langston Hughes and Paul Laurence Dunbar had on him and is convinced of the immense talent that for the most part lays dormant in the black race. His writing is intense and yet you can't help but feel uplifted, inspired and determined to do your utmost to become a better person. I loved this book!
