4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting but not mind blowing 28 July 2013

Religon and science have been busy trying to remove all evidence and knowlege of anomalous things like parapsychology and UFO research from the face of the planet. I read books like this to find about ideas I might not have come across or considered. I liked most of the stories included in the this volume. Overall, it was good but it won't profoundly change the way you see the world.

My favorite chapter by far was "Antropology of the Weird" by Jack Hunter. Unfortunately the accounts he sites are old and we are unable to query the author for more information. But the experiences themselves seem well documented and quite possible. Other notable chapters are "Fulcanelli and the Hermetic Magistery" and "The Mystic Hisory of America".

A few border on silly but are still entertaining like "There's Something Strange in the Sewers" and "The Slenderman".
