This album is darker than its predecessor "World Downfall". The Guitars are muddier and the overall feel of the album is more Death Metal than Grindcore. Two key members are missing from the lineup, David Vincent on Bass, also of Morbid Angel and Genitorturers and Oscar Garcia of Nausea. Jesse Pintado's guitar riffs are as deadly as ever but the guitar lacks the crisp attack of his work on the "World Downfall". Pete Sandoval is on the drum kit again and the guy is a Drum God, what more can be said? The new vocalist Anthony Rezhawk is pretty good but he ain't Oscar Garcia. Tony Norman plays bass and extra guitars on this dense slab of Death metal and isn't half bad at all. The album is generic Death Metal and doesn't stand head and shoulders above the other Death Metal mongerers like the debut did. I feel that the chemistry of the original band is better than this second incarnation but it is still a good album. This album is still as good as any of the many Death Metal bands out there but is not quite in the league of Nile. This album is for fans of Terrorizer, Napalm Death, Morbid Angel and Nausea.
It is well worth the price and I am not sorry that I bought it. The vinyl is 180 grams and the cover is excellent, the allround package is a work of art and a pleasure to hold and listen to. This is a must for any vinyl junkie.Darker Days Ahead [VINYL]

World Downfall was always going to be hard to beat, but Darker Days ahead is truly amazing.

Took some time getting used to the industrial sound, but this album has quickly become my favourite.

Pete's drumming is insane and Tony's voice really pays tribute to this album.

Major bummer about Jesse passing away, but I know he'll be happy that he went out with full flying colours.

Turn it up!!!

World Downfall was and still is one of my favourite all-time albums (and I have owned it for fifteen years) so when this album appeared I was filled with great anticipation. However, this album is basically just a generic metal album. Its highlight being the cover version of Dead Shall Rise from World Downfall (and this is not even close to being as good as the original). What made Terrorizer great was the raw sound of their music and the almost punk like vocals of Oscar. Darker Days... is simply a Morbid Angel side project. Don't get me wrong, jesse Pintado is a legend and his death is a tragedy... and his work, as well as Trey's work, on this album is fantastic but the album simply sounds like another boring old death metal band with a little bit of speed added to taste.

Buy it for the sake of it being a good metal album but don't buy it expecting to hear Terrorizer's second album.
