Let me see...where to start!

Well, would it be a teller if I was to say I have just finished Dark Promise and I have already bought Dark Vengeance (NightWalkers #2)?

There are a few things I love when I have the time to read and two of them are Vampires and HOT protagonists.

This story pushes your buttons right from the start. We are introduced to Andre and his world of Night Walkers. How he can feel and sense where danger lurks and how his heightened sense brings him into contact with Mare. A naive young woman whose life if in danger.

I won't tell anymore as I think it poor taste to give spoilers.

STORY: 5/5
MALE PROTAGONIST: 5/5
FEMALE PROTAGONIST:3/5 (I found her too immature - but that is personal taste)
PLOT: 5/5

Andre is a vampire, but not just any vampire he’s one of the elite, from a royal line. He does his best not to mix with human’s seeing them as little more than vermin. Then he catches the scent of Mare one night, a human woman in danger, after he saves her from an attack he feels drawn to her and from here things get weird and complicated for him.

I haven’t read a paranormal romance in a while so it was nice to brush off those vamp cobwebs and dive in and this was such a good book to do it with. Nikki Landis wastes no time in heating up the tension between our characters and the sexual tension is at full heat within a few pages. Now those who are adverse to insta-love are going to have issues with this book but bear in mind it’s a paranormal romance and things start to make sense the further into the book you get. I always dive into these books with an open mind and that’s definitely the case here.

As for characters I loved them, they aren’t perfect, they don’t fawn over each other (because that really does drive me a bit nuts) but they argue and butt heads as they try to find common ground to come together. Andre’s old fashioned, protective nature versus Mare’s modern, strong willed woman was at times funny but also left you wondering if they could work through their issues.

I also absolutely loved Mare’s brother and really wish we had seen more of him. I felt he added a great dynamic to the story and was willing him back onto the page when he wasn’t around!

The book ends with a gasp out loud cliffhanger meaning that I really hope the story of these wonderful characters is continuing in book two!

A huge thanks to Nikki Landis for an eARC of this novel in return for my honest review.

I was gifted a free copy of this book and I voluntarily decided to review it

Andre happens to be in the right place at the right time to save Mare from an attack, he is drawn to Mare straight away but this amid a problem as he is vampyre and she is human and they are told at every turn that they cannot be together

This is well written full of danger and romance and emotion that will keep you gripped. I am excited to read book two to find out what happens to this beautiful pair

Dark Promise is book 1 in the Nightwalkers series, and the first book I've read by this author. Andre is a thousand year old vampire who finds himself strangely drawn to Mare, a human woman in need of a protector. Andre must reluctantly introduce Mare to the Vampire underworld in order to ensure her safety from the human threat, which only leaves her vulnerable to more danger from the Vampire world. As their feelings deepen, each struggles with the reality of Mare's mortality. Can their love survive?

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Love Story 25 April 2017

I loved this book!!! This book was awesome!! When I shed tears for the people in a book I am emotionally engaged. The story was sweet but past that it was so complex. The vampyre society in this book is more complicated than many others I have read. I fell in love with Andre and Mare and cried for the love they shared but was constantly told they could not be together. You had to weep for all they suffered, then it ends in a cliff hanger oh no! didn't see that coming. I have the next in series on my kindle ready to read. Loved this book and this series!
5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely LOVED! 7 July 2017

I have to say, I was a bit apprehensive about this story. Mostly because I sort of felt like if you read one vampire book, you've read them all. So very wrong. This book was wonderful and not just the story, but the writing and story telling had me turning pages, unable to stop. The world of humans and vampires collide and in this story in the best possible way. The suspense had me on the edge of my seat. The romance had me sighing and pining away for more. All I can say is buy this book if you like anything I just mentioned. Seriously, you won't be sorry.

Mare's life is in danger. An unknown enemy seeks to destroy her, ...then she is saved by a vampire and not just any old vampire. I haven't read a good vampire story like this for a long time.
What a great tale. I loved it. it was sophisticated, smooth and thoroughly enjoyable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing vampire world with some great characters 6 Sept. 2016

I didn't think I would get pulled in as much as I did but I could not put it down (even when at work) and I can't wait for the second book. I've got to see what's next and I loved the conflicted character, Andre. I’m a sucker for romance novels, but there’s something about two people falling in love that’s hard for me to resist. Combining romance with vampires, or anything fantastical, and my doom is totally sealed.
